ELIAS ALLEN WHITCOMBE
This is ELIAS WHITCOMBE who is a MALE, and a RADIO PERSONALITY FOR WWN. He is EIGHTEEN years old, a HALFBLOOD, and has a habit of looking a bit like CHUCK ACHIKE.
Played by PANDA, who has EIGHT YEARS of rp experience."Good evening witches, wizards and ghouls. Coming to you live on WWN, it's your host, Eli, bringing you the latest hits off the wizard music charts. What are the cool kids listening to? Sit back, relax and hit that bottle of firewhiskey because tonight's gonna be a wild ride."Elias comes from a long line of Gryffindors - not as long and famous as the Weasleys, who have been around since the days of Merlin, or so people say, but the Whitcombes are still well-known proud and true Gryffindors; and Elias is no exception. The Whitcombes have been famous for holding stereotypical Gryffindor careers - his dad was an Auror for several years before retiring due to an injury, and his mom is a curse-breaker for Gringotts. Both professions require bravery, determination and intellect. Elias never really cared for school, however, and he proudly boasted his solid Acceptable status. He was far too busy racking up detentions for throwing dorm parties, playing pranks on the younger students and trolling Hogwarts' insufferable caretaker.
By some miracle, Eli graduated. Would he follow in his parents' footsteps of landing a dangerous career and having exciting adventures? Hell no. He's not so much brave as he is just reckless and impulsive. He throws caution to the wind and does whatever he feels like at that moment, but there's no way he would risk his life for any sort of career, fame or amount of money. Unless he was intoxicated and dared to do something... but that's besides the point.
Elias decided to pursue a career that used his greatest strength, in his opinion - his humor. He loves to talk and make jokes. It should be known that about 80 percent of what comes out of his mouth is pure bullshit. Throughout school, he was Hogwarts' Quidditch commentator. Eli liked playing Quidditch, but he more enjoyed - and was far better at - commentating the matches. Elias often got into trouble for the things he said, which were not always kid-friendly, but that was the best part. He did not consider his commentating a success if no professors were yelling at him."Hogwarts is almost back in session, and my lovely village of Hogsmeade is about to get crowded. If you're looking for an epic back-to-school party, you know where to find me" - indistinguishably gruff mumbling - "Only joking, boss. How irresponsible do you think I am? Fifth-years and over only, please."Besides his passion for commentating Quidditch matches, Elias also has a passion for music. Therefore, it really was a no-brainer to decide what he wanted to do after graduation. The summers of his sixth and seventh years, he worked at the Wizarding Wireless Network doing odds-and-ends jobs like sorting through the owl mail and giving out promotional materials to Hogsmeade shoppers. But the important thing was that he networked with important people at the WWN Headquarters, and his hard work those two summers paid off.
He also had built up quite a following from his Quidditch commentating, and word had spread fast. Thus, a month before graduating, he was asked to be a radio personality for the radio's late night spot, and Elias accepted without hesitation. He loves his job, which is a big thing for him because he had always told himself that he would never do anything that he didn't love. Elias does not like to waste time; he's always on the move and his attention is constantly being drawn to different things all at once. He has difficulty doing one thing for an extended period of time, but there's nothing that he would rather do more than be a radio DJ. Eli has discovered his dream job, and he knows he's lucky to have landed it so quickly. So although he isn't following in his parents' footsteps, he's happy and having fun; that's all that matters to him, honestly."That heavily autotuned piece was called, 'Total Takeover' by the Robot Kittens, the hottest muggle band in the world right now. I don't know about you, but the day muggles actually invent robot kittens is the day we should release the dragons and show 'em who's boss" - more indistinguishably gruff mumbling - "Again, only joking, boss. Merlin, this gaffer doesn't have much of a sense of humor, does he? Anyway, mates, that's it for me tonight. Same time tomorrow. As always, this has been your host, Eli, on WWN."
