In public he is the upright businessman who puts other before himself, humble, and far too smart to be spending all his time in a book shop. The real Ellsworth is a different story. While excellent at containing all of his emotions Ellsworth tends to be curt and short with people in private who he does not feel a need to impress. He looks down on all except his immediate family and has no problem showing others just how much he knows. Impatience is something that defines him and while if he has a plan he can struggle through having to wait it is not preferred. While he is controlled and calm at most times once enough emotional stress has built up he explodes and pray for the soul of whoever should be in his line of sight when that happens. the history father • Felix David DuPont, twenty-six, deceased mother • Eloise Francesca Palmer, forty-four, deceased siblings • Elise Palmer, thirty-six and Eamon Palmer, twenty-four, Auror important people/pets • African Grey named Elric. hometown • Stevenston, Scotland overall history • When some people are born it’s celebrated. It comes with balloons and a cake and hanging decorations. At the tap end of Stevenston that stormy June night there was no such fanfare. Just a distraught mother and a disappearing father. He’d reappear of course, albeit briefly, but we’ll get to that in a bit. No Ellsworth Fabian Palmer was pushed out into this world and while the world raged around him and his mother cried he was simply quiet. Staring up at the ceiling as if he was attempting to burn holes through it. This of course was probably reading too much into the matter as he had just been born but some would say what appeared to be quiet contemplation would be a sign of things to come. Then again those some would have to be alive to say such things. Ellsworth Palmer’s childhood was one of quiet indifference it seemed. His early years were spent silently obeying his mother. Going along with whatever she said. Any real elicitations of joy or disappointment weren’t things that others ever saw out of him. It wasn’t that he wasn’t capable of them, it was just that Ellsworth didn’t deem them worth his time to emote. He internalized and let it all simmer inside. He was the perfect son; this was crucial seeing as his father had left after all. When Ellsworth’s father never returned and was replaced instead by another at the age of eight Ellsworth again elicited no emotional response. Not outwardly. Part of him felt hope, another part fear, and another part a certainty that this was destined to just not work. Ellsworth would find that like most times in his life, he was right. The new father figure was there just long enough to impregnate his mother and then leave. It was at this moment that a young Ellsworth began to contemplate just whether or not his mother’s judgment was sound. Elise was born into the world though and all seemed moderately well. Ellsworth looked after the girl and some would even say, Elise herself, that she raised him. His most true and loyal follower now and forever. It was no surprise that Ellsworth was magical. His mother had been despite all his faults and upon his arrival at Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardy Ellsworth he was quickly shuffled into Ravenclaw and his school career was spent with his head in books. He didn’t play Quidditch or even really interact with others. He simply studied although he felt the scope was a bit too narrow. He knew of the other muggle courses. Knew their sciences and mathes held applications even in the wizarding world even if others ignored it. So Ellsworth studied that too. A school year filled with nothing but work only to return home and take care of his younger sister. That was the way all of Ellsworth’s school years would be. Not making friends or even connections with others he simply worked away. He didn’t really have any grand plans for after graduation just knew that he wanted to learn more. So he did. With a school as big as Hogwarts it was easy to disappear. It was easy to lose track of everything and only one person all at once. Ellsworth Palmer was of so little note at Hogwarts despite his exemplary grades that he was passed over for Head Boy. Ellsworth of course didn’t hold a grudge, the idea of responsibility of that magnitude perturbed him, at least at the time it did. Upon his seventh year his mother, now thirty-five years young seemed to stumble upon a man that would finally stick. The problem with this of course was that Ellsworth had no time for such a man that was until it turned out he was laying hands on his mother. So a freshly graduate Ellsworth broke for the first time in his life. Everyone has a breaking point after all. It just depends on what leads to it and after seventeen years of held in…well ever emotion under the sun Ellsworth couldn’t help but find something nice in the concept of watching the life drain from someone’s eyes that was vexing him in one way or another. It almost all seemed rather pleasant. Some would assume that Ellsworth’s life would change forever upon this occurrence. That things would shift dramatically or that he might have even ended up loathing the baby brother that came out of his mother’s stomach a few months later but that was hardly the case. Ellsworth remained indifferent. Indifferent to his sister’s newfound glee at his act of violence. Indifferent to his mother’s newfound fear of him. Indifferent that now he had to find some kind of new career. While Ellsworth liked to know what the next step was nothing particularly spoke to him, he still just wanted to study more. So Ellsworth did what any youth who was lost did. He traveled. Some would assume that there was a wild part of Ellsworth Fabian Palmer to be unlocked but that was hardly the case. Instead the fresh faced young man continued to study. Not traveling to the wizarding or muggle partying hot spots but instead to various libraries over the world. What Ellsworth found was simply that the human race, on either side of the wizarding and muggle coin, was consistently terrible. Everyone had their own self-interests and motivations and the rest of the world could quite frankly be damned if it thought that what it wanted was of any importance to that person. Which was how Ellsworth Palmer finally figured out what he wanted to do, contribute to the madness. Ellsworth knew that a structured plan to cause absolute chaos that he could be in charge of was a bit paradoxical but it seemed to be the most logical conclusion. So with a charm that few knew that he actual possessed Ellsworth Palmer became the bell of the ball upon his return from his travels. Submitting and having papers published in various wizarding and muggle news publications Ellsworth began shaking the hand of and winning the favor of whoever he could come into contact with. No one knew the real him though. The man who on occasion still killed to let any true emotion he had out. The man who enabled his sister to do the same while using her to find likeminded people. and raise a brother after the surprising death of his mother. The young genius who came from such humble beginnings who wanted nothing more than to run his bookshop, who could suspect Ellsworth Palmer of anything more? In truth the structure of Ellsworth’s plans was beginning to bloom. The world had grown boring and predictable and the same old struggles wouldn’t do for him. He needed more and he found it in the form of the microchip that all the muggles used to communicate, watch programs with, and pretty much get around with as a daily part of life. The first domino lined itself up as did all the others. He saw how the chaos could blossom and managed to appeal to the werewolves more…animalistic tendencies. Everything would have been perfect, were it not for the peace. Ellsworth had assumed that the speech that he had practiced for months would prevent an attempted mind wipe and while it did just that the peace that followed was not something that he had calculated or foresaw. After a momentary fit he regained his composure of course and knew that it was only a matter of time until it all came crumbling down. Now five years later the cracks are starting to show and Ellsworth Palmer is ready to start pushing again. With his brother Eamon working as a mole inside the Auror division and his sister Elise having gathered more than a few useful friends for his cause Ellsworth feels he is primed to cause the chaos he had initially intended and even, if he’s lucky, spark a proper war. the role player alias • rolo age •twenty-seven pronouns • he code • admin edit other characters • rolo l. grant , rian r. ryland |
